Mexicali

Mexicali is the largest city in the Imperial and Coachella Valleys with 163,095 inhabitants. It is the capital of Baja California Norte. It has a modern urban infrastructure and valuable natural resources like Cerro Prieto the largest geothermal electric plant in Latin America, and the Colorado River.

It boasts three major universities and good connections to Mexican and American transportation, via highway, rail and air. It offers tourists excellent chinese cuisine, a State theater and an art gallery. It is the home of the Baja 1000 off-road race and tourists can see bullfighting at Plaza Calafia.
